The New Kämp Spa, Where Finnish Rituals Meet Cutting-Edge Science, Is Now Open

A wholly reimagined Kämp Spa has opened as part of the renewal of Hotel Kämp. As of August 2026, the 1,200-square-meter spa welcomes guests and members to a wellbeing landscape that pairs Finnish heritage with next-generation technology. 

Northern Europe has a new premier wellness destination. Located within Hotel Kämp, the new Kämp Spa is rooted in Finnish heritage and shaped by modern, purpose-driven technology. Reflecting the legacy of Helsinki's most storied hotel, the spa combines the uniquely historic refinement of Hotel Kämp with a personalized approach to wellbeing.

While Kämp Spa existed before on a smaller scale, this one is a ground-up build, several years in the making, and an important milestone in the hotel's largest refurbishment in modern times. The entire project, due to be completed in the fall of 2026, covers every room and suite, adds 22 rooms and suites in an entirely new wing, returns the main entrance to its original position facing the Esplanade, reworks the lobby, and gives the bar and restaurant a full makeover.

Form Meets Function

Spanning 1,200 sqm, Kämp Spa effectively becomes central Helsinki’s biggest luxury spa. Here, a holistic approach to recovery, vitality and long-term health has laid the groundwork for every detail. Designed around the individual, the concept blends timeless Nordic rituals with evidence-based practices.

Guests can enjoy traditional Finnish, steam and infrared saunas; a pool and cold plunge pool; and signature treatments. Alongside these sit state of the art offerings like cryotherapy, Neurosonic beds, compression therapy, purpose-driven nutrition, functional beverages, and personalized wellness programs. 

The interiors are the work of London-based Archer Humphryes Architects, as is much of the hotel's refurbishment. Building on the hotel's new design language, the firm prioritized form, warmth, and fluid lines when designing Kämp Spa, with the aim of creating a space that feels like a cocoon. Rich and seamless wood tones, soft architectural curves, and hidden, radiant lighting make the case for slowing down.

Another defining feature of the new concept is the Kämp Spa Members' Club, a limited-membership community designed for those who see wellbeing as part of everyday life. It offers year-round access to the spa and to the Technogym-equipped gym, along with personalized guidance.

On the Menu

The treatment menu follows a clear philosophy: care works best when it is both purposeful and personal. Whether it's a facial or a massage, the emphasis is on results you can feel, not just see.

Guests can choose from signature massages and facials alongside treatments that run from longevity-focused to express. Some ease tension and restore circulation, like the Renewal Ritual, which runs over two hours and uses warm Karelian soapstones glided over the body to stimulate circulation and release muscle tension. Others work at a cellular level to support long-term vitality, like the 90-minute DMK Enzyme Therapy—a skin-tightening treatment often described as a non-surgical facelift, used to target sun damage, acne, rosacea, and pigmentation.

In Kämp Spa’s new and ambitious philosophy, nutrition plays a key role. The Spa Lounge draws on Nordic flavours and functional ingredients, from protein-rich bowls and soothing broths to signature drinks rooted in Finnish nature. Highlights include collagen ice cream made in house, as well as a Birch and Cranberry mocktail that arrives in a vessel modeled on the traditional Finnish “löylykiulu” sauna bucket.
